York County Finances Library Expansion, Law Enforcement Building, and Fire Truck Acqusition

York County borrowed $32.2 million from the spring 2022 Virginia Pooled Financing Program issuance pool for several capital projects. The County secured the 20-year loan with a lease revenue pledge. The borrowing financed the replacement of a Quantum Skyboom fire truck, the expansion and renovation of Yorktown Library, and a new law enforcement building. The expansion and renovation of 19,000 sq. ft. of the existing library space included a multipurpose auditorium, classrooms, study rooms, conference rooms, a technology training room, children’s wing, teen space, and gallery space. The project also included stormwater best management practices and access roadways.
